Oh Rain, you did come at last.
And when you did, you came with a blast.
You touched all our senses
On that, we do have a consensus.
Even before you dropped down
You sent your smell, we own.
You fell with a musical pitter-patter
That sounded like rapturous twitter.
You descended, sheet after sheet
Our waiting eyes to meet.
You were delightful to taste:
To catch you, we had put out our tongues in haste.
And your sleek arms’ cooling chill
Our skins can feel still.
Oh rain, our saviour,
To you we never can say Au revoir!
Note: I love and prefer sunny and warm weather; but then, for tropical creatures like me, rain sure is precious!
