Where does a flower grow?!

We usually see flowers growing near the top of a tree.

On a recent shopping trip, I was surprised to see one flower growing right near the base of a tree.

Here it is for you to see – and either feel surprised too or think of times you have seen a similar sight!

A Crow Looks In

I am sure this crow and its mate recognise me. Whenever we meet across the window, this bird looks pointedly at me and/or caws or comes to the closest branch possible and looks in.

I do leave food everyday for birds at another window. So, they probably want that service here too. Or may be it’s just a hello! Whatever it is, it sure is cute!

Predator – a falcon from my window

A Peregrine Falcon subjects the surrounding to a leisurely scrutiny.

Well, I stood preparing breakfast and was looking out my window idly. And saw a parrot 🦜 perch atop a neem tree. Almost instantly though, it took off, just as another bird landed on a neighbouring tree.

Thinking it must be a predator it fears, I ran to grab my camera and on focusing the lens saw this one. Af peregrine falcon.

A Dove

A dove walks into my bay window. ❤.

It was doing this twice a day, every day, for over 2 months. Probably looking to nest.

Sometimes, it would bring its mate along. They’d strut for a few minutes, survey the surrounding, give me sidelong glances and push off. ❤.

Snoozing Squirrel

A squirrel snoozes in the warmth of the early morning sun. Outside my window.

Before you wonder, they sometimes sleep with open eyes. They have to be careful as they have many predators!

He kept still for several minutes, and that’s why I concluded he was asleep.  Usually, they are nervous and frisky. Well, quite possibly, he was sunning himself.
